A Trip to the Tamar

As part of their work on transport, the Year 1 children walked down to the banks of the Tamar to have a good look at two of Plymouth's most well known landmarks - its bridges!

We looked out for differences between the Tamar Bridge and the Royal Albert Bridge, or Brunel Bridge as it is known locally.  The children's observations and photos provided the inspiration for some fabulous art work using charcoal, ink, wax and paint, which you can see in the Year 1 classrooms.  Over the course of the term the children will be investigating the history of the bridges.

We all had a super time, the weather was lovely and the children were all very sensible.

Have a look at some photos of our trip!
