Green Fingers

This term we are learning about plants.  Everyone has planted their own pea or bean which they will need to look after to make sure it grows.  The children will need to remember what a plant needs in order to grow.

This afternoon we went outside hunting for different types of plants growing in our school grounds - flowers, shrubs, trees and bushes.  We even saw some insects enjoying the flowers too.  We had an interesting discussion about what a plant is and how plants differ from other living and growing things!

Next week everyone will be given a seed to take home to grow for homework (details to follow) and they will be invited to bring it back to display at our end of year Flower and Produce Show.  Children can also start growing other things at home to enter into the show.
