'Ello, 'ello, 'ello?

We were all on our best behaviour on Friday afternoon because three police officers were on the premises!

They came to visit the Year 1 classes so that the children could learn about some of the work the police do.

As well as having fun dressing up in police uniform, we also found out about some of the equipment a police officer carries around - torch, walkie talkie, baton, notepad and protective body vest.

All the children had their fingerprints taken (these were all sent home and not kept by the police) and they found out about why the police sometimes use fingerprints to help them solve crimes.

The children behaved very sensibly, asked lots of intelligent questions and were very interested in the work of the police.
