We have been historians in Year 1 today and have learnt about the great achievements of Amy Johnson. We watched a range of clips and learnt how she flew solo from England to Australia. We think she was extremely brave, resilient and determined. We talked about how life looked different back in the 1930's.
Following this we discovered how Amy faced other difficulties because she was a woman living in the 1930's. We looked at the different jobs woman were doing and had to sort them into past and present day.
Woman have a lot more opportunities than Amy had back when she was living. We finished by reading the book 'Girls Can Do Anything'.
